Choose from the six included beeps, import your MP3s or record a message of up to five seconds. Your personal sounds stay on your phone.

Distances that work for you.

Choose from 50 to 1,000 m before a turn and up to three reminders before recognized highway exits. For example: 3, 2 and 1 km, or 2.5 km.

A halo with your own style.

Add a light border to your phone and choose its colour, duration, pulses and thickness. An optional feature you can enable in settings.

Listen to the six sounds included in Bip Maps and find your favourite. In the app, adjust the volume from 0 to 150%, with a convenient snap at 100%.

Amplification and audibility depend on the phone and audio output.

  1. Allow navigation instructions

    While parked, open Bip Maps and allow access to navigation notifications.

  2. Choose your reminders

    Set your sound, distances and halo, then mute voice guidance in Google Maps.

  3. Start your route

    With automatic alerts enabled, Bip Maps follows the instructions it receives in the background. Open the app again after force-stopping it.

PRIVACY MADE SIMPLE

Your journey stays on your phone.

Bip Maps processes navigation instructions locally. No Bip Maps account, no ads and no analytics SDKs. Microphone access is only requested if you choose to record your voice.

A few pointers before you go.

Does Bip Maps replace Google Maps?

No. Google Maps calculates and displays your route. Bip Maps uses its navigation notifications to trigger reminders. Google Maps must be installed.

Do I need to open Bip Maps before each journey?

After setup, with notification access allowed and automatic alerts enabled, reminders follow navigation in the background. Opening Maps without starting navigation does not trigger reminders. Open Bip Maps again after force-stopping it.

Will my music keep playing?

The Bip Maps player does not request a pause or a reduction in music volume. Sound mixing and audibility depend on the phone, music player, Bluetooth device and Android Auto configuration.

Can I use it with Android Auto?

Alerts can accompany Google Maps navigation with Android Auto. Android controls the audio output, especially during calls. The halo only appears on the phone. Check your configuration while parked.

Is it available for iPhone?

This version is designed for Android 12L or later. There is currently no iPhone version.

Are alerts always guaranteed?

No. Reminder timing and exit recognition depend on information supplied by Google Maps. Some manoeuvres may not be recognized, and changes made by Google may affect future operation.
